Winston Churchill called the East African country of Uganda, the ‘Pearl of Africa’, and with its rolling green mountains, awe-inspiring rivers and wide open grassland, it’s not difficult to see why. Uganda is also the perfect location to see some of nature’s great primates, including chimpanzees and gorillas, in their natural habitat.

Chimps, gorillas and more in the ‘Pearl of Africa’

Activities included in the Uganda experience include a river expedition on the White Nile, an expedition to the Kazinga Channel, and forest hikes to visit chimpanzees and gorillas.

Starting out with the astounding natural beauty of the Murchison Falls National Park, we’ll take a short flight to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, where, by 4X4, we’ll explore the savannah with its teeming populations of lion, giraffe, antelope, leopard, and many other animals.

Next you’ll visit the Kazinga Channel – a natural waterway of 32km that joins the lakes of Edward and George – we’ll visit the world’s largest populations of hippos as well as the birds and large mammals that flock to the area.

At the Kyambura gorge we’ll trek through the forest to visit the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, before finally, entering the Biwindi National Park, with the objective of visiting a community of gorillas.

Wildlife you can expect to see in Uganda include the kob antelope and the shoebill, one of the rarest birds on the planet.

Thanks to the uniqueness of the ecosystem and its wildlife, this is the perfect experience to combine with Kenya or Tanzania.

Five reasons why

1

Making memories. A safari is simply an unforgettable experience. Having the privilege to explore some of the planets’ last remaining wilderness, and seeing the wildlife and countryside first hand, feels like being inside a nature documentary. Truly a one of a kind experience.

2

Perfect pictures. The sheer natural beauty of the landscapes, and being able to observe the unique wildlife up close, makes this a perfect experience for photographers of all levels.

3

Escape the mundane. For most, travel is an opportunity to break out of our routines, to disconnect and engage with the wider world. On safari you’ll be completely in the moment, away from screens and distractions, giving you the escape you need to return, recharged and energised.

4

A different concept of luxury. Even though you’ll be far from civilisation, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and amenities you’ll receive, even on the most isolated campsites. The reduced capacity of all our accommodation and personal attention you’ll receive will make you feel right at home.

5

Sheer Inspiration. For many of our customers, the landscapes, wildlife and cultures they’ve encountered have helped to inspire them in their professional life; from architecture, music, fashion to inspiration for novels. We’re convinced that if you’re facing a block, a safari in Africa will give you the push you need.
